The program for this new single family residence included approximately 2,200 square feet of interior space and a 2-car garage enhanced with outdoor spaces that took advantage of the views available from the knoll of this site.

 

The kitchen and living/dining spaces are spacious and open to maintain a sense of continuity in the activities rather than separating them into individual functions. The garage was located to avoid obstructing the beautiful views to the south and east.

 

One of the key elements of the design was to provide views out of the house in such a way as to avoid obstructions to the views to the horizon. Back up electrical power was provided as well as preparations for future solar power. And an additional out building with three garage bays was designed into the master plan.
