Thetford Elementary School Thetford Hill, Vermont This school had not seen any significant renovations or additions in over 30 years. As a result, the project required substantial renovations to the 1961 wing and minor renovations to a 1976 several. Major upgrades to the kitchen, restrooms, mechanical heating and ventilation systems, water systems, and roof systems were included. The project also incorporated a new middle school size gymnasium with provisions for a future performance stage. The school is fully outfitted with up-to-date computer networking and technology. The school comfortably serves up to 300 children. The rear, south facing wall of the gymnasium was fitted with a passive solar heating wall which preheats the ventilation air prior to entering the system.
