Chinnicci House Lake City, Florida Designed for a family as a residence for their on-site wholesale nursery business. The building is nestled in a shady oak grove in northern Florida. Views, natural light and ventilation were key elements in the design. A continuous south-facing clerestory provides muted light as it reflects off the cedar lined ceiling of the interior. An interior planter under the clerestory softens the edges and provides additional greenery and natural beauty to the warm cedar interior. In the interior reflected and indirect lighting provide illumination to the large open spaces. Uplighting along the hallway provides a warm reflective glow in both the sleeping rooms and the hall. Each room is fitted with large windows and sliding doors provide access to the walk-around deck. Back to Projects  |
