Upper Valley Supportive Housing Project
Anne’s Place Enfield, New Hampshire This multi-family residential development for the Twin Pines Housing
Trust consists of 5 buildings on 3 sites in two towns. The goal was
to provide 20 units of low-income housing for needy individuals and
families. Anne’s Place: The three buildings on this sit are arranged
to provide a sense of community and security for the residents. Wetlands,
setbacks and poor soil conditions from previous uses limited site development
and configuration.
Cape House: The historic Cummings Cape House, originally
constructed in the 1800’s, is the feature building of this complex.
The program for this building included a small apartment for the site
manager, an office and a community space for tenant meetings and educational
programs. The original beam framing was retained where possible and
exposed to reveal the historic nature of the building.
West House: Eight two and three bedroom apartments
as well as community laundry space is provided on two floors of this
building. Apartments feature spacious living areas and large windows.
Hallways and public areas were kept to a minimum to maximize the usable
space in the apartments.
East House: Only two units are contained in this building.
The upstairs apartment is reminiscent of a loft design and provides
tenants with an open plan living/dining/ kitchen area as well as generous
natural light and ventilation. Cape House West House
